Visited here November 2023 for a big birthday,a suprise from my husband. We found it eventually then was confused the door was locked, found a bell by the side of the door where a man answered, quite abruptly in my opinion, telling us our key was inside.Rooms were fabulous, ours was overlooking a canal with a small balcony. I don’t know,I enjoyed the room/hotel etc but the staff were a bit off. Just a little warning,it’s down a little side street, not very well lit.

I arrived at the hotel around midnight and the hotel door was closed and nobody was at the reception. I made a mistake with my booking date and the policy states that I can make a change only once. Then, I noticed a doorbell which I pressed and a guy answered with zero cooperation. I even told him that I was willing to pay again for a new night and he refused. Also, he was talking aggressively. It's not personal but it's a situation nobody wants to be put in!!

Original and elegant hotel in the core of Venice. Comfortable and clean, with a very nice view of the beautiful canal "rio del Bareteri"

I stayed at Al Gazzettino for 1 night and booked 2 rooms and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The staff at the hotel were unprofessional, rude, and made me feel very unwelcome. The biggest issue was the misunderstanding regarding the breakfast. While booking I have added filters with pets allowed and breakfast included , in the morning thinking that we have breakfast we went downstairs to eat. first we been told that only one room has breakfast the other one doesn’t. Then none has. I was quite confused and wanted to find out more , I wouldn’t mind paying for it if they were professional and explained properly , one woman from the staff made a scene and shouted at us in front of others .She refused to give us her name and was incredibly unhelpful in resolving the situation. We been told we are not from the police and we don’t need to know her name ! Bear in mind that she was working there with no badge and her position ! Moreover, her behavior was completely unacceptable. She mocked us, was extremely arrogant, and even told us that the money we paid for the room was NOTHING . I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and respect shown towards us as paying guests. She said she doesn’t care about us customers writing reviews and we can write whatever we want ! Then she left us at the reception and went to kitchen shouting and using bad words ! Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel to other tourists. The staff's attitude and behavior ruined our stay and left a lasting negative impression. It is important for other traveler’s to be aware of the disrespectful treatment we received so they can make an informed decision when choosing where to stay in Venice.

Perfectly located for Venice's sights: a very short walk from the Alilaguna stop from the airport, under 10 mins walk to San Marco, under 20 mins to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection... Helpful responses before arrival to queries about location etc. My 4th floor room was very quiet, no noise at all, nice bathroom, lots of hot water, quiet aircon, wifi. No kettle or tea and coffee in the room and the pillows were a bit hard. Breakfast didn't start until 08:30 so I was a bit concerned as I had early entry tickets to museums etc but it was served promptly and the hotel is so conveniently located I had no issues. The hotel has an attached restaurant and there are plenty of other eating options nearby. Breakfast was substantial. Staff were friendly.

Service is terrible, employees do not care about guests (especially women) safety. They gave room information out to a random man that had followed my friends into this hotel, to which he showed up outside their door moments later. Zero remorse from the workers after the complaint and they wound up blaming the women for having a random man follow them. Do not stay at this hotel if you value your safety and especially if you are a woman

Had a good expletive in the hotel. Very nice location. All the landmarks are very near. No lift, so if your room is on 3rd floor then it will be a little trouble. But overall great experience.

Me and my friend are both small women traveling alone. We checked into our hotel and went for a short walk. There was a man outside of the hotel when we returned and he kept trying to talk to us but we ignored him, went into the hotel and went up to the room to change. We heard a knock at the door and it was that man from the street. He said that the front desk agent let him in and gave him our room number. He made a comment about us being all alone and we asked him to leave. He did leave but we were so freaked out by him following us into the hotel up four flights of stairs, commenting on being alone and now knowing our room number. We went to the front desk and asked her why she gave him our room number and her response was just that “he asked for it” and we told her we didn’t know this man and that makes us really uncomfortable and she said “well how should I know who you do and don’t know” (great English horrible manners) we kept calmly reiterating that we were scared of this man now especially traveling alone as women and she told us she won’t change our room and that the hotel owner would be there in a bit. We waited to talk to him and when we did he immediately became hostile even though we were calm and he shoved my friend and puffed his chest at me like he was about to fight me. He was a large man clearly flexing his muscles at two 5 ft tall white women. He told us we were rude for being upset refused to change our room number even though there were rooms available and refused a refun
